Registration

Registration is the process of selecting and enrolling in NWFSC courses. Registration is required before a student can nourish classes. For information regarding important registration dates, visit the online Academic Calendar.

While nigh students may register online through RaiderNet, a student'south status or plan of study may restrict online registration. For additional information regarding the registration process, please contact a Student Success Navigator at (850) 502-2895 or studentsuccess@nwfsc.edu.

Enrollment Status

Classification of Students

Students are classified according to the number of semester hours they accept earned (both NWFSC credit and any transfer credit that has been awarded is included in this calculation).

LOWER LEVEL

Freshman A pupil who has 29 or fewer hours
Sophomore A student who has 30 hours to 60 hours

UPPER LEVEL

Inferior A student who has 61 to 90 hours
Senior A student who has 91 or more

Academic Load

A educatee may enroll in a maximum of eighteen (18) credit hours each semester. Students seeking to enroll in more than eighteen (xviii) developmental, career and technical, and/or college credits in a unmarried semester must receive prior approving from a Student Success Navigator. Appointments with a Student Success Navigator tin be made by contacting (850) 502-2895 or studentsuccess@nwfsc.edu.

Inspect Status

Auditing a class permits a student to enroll in a college-credit course on a "not-for-credit" basis. Students auditing a class are not required to complete examinations but are expected to attend classes and participate in other activities and requirements on the aforementioned footing as students seeking credit. For students who enroll with an Inspect Status prior to the end of the Schedule Adjustment (Drib/Add together) Period, upon completion of the course, an "X" class will be awarded but will non impact the student'due south GPA nor count as an endeavour toward Full Toll of Instruction and Repeat rules.

After the close of the Schedule Adjustment (Drop/Add together) Period, students may just modify from credit status to audit status with the written blessing from the instructor of the class. Schedule Changes during the Schedule Adjustment Menses

Changes in course registration may be made during the Schedule Adjustment (Drop/Add) Period specified in the online Academic Calendar. Non-Attendance

Students are expected to attend form beginning on the first scheduled coming together date regardless of the delivery method of the form (on-campus, hybrid, online, etc.). After the schedule aligning period has passed for a course, the instructor will be required to confirm attendance for each student on the roster. Attendance is confirmed through a student'southward participation in an academic-related activity. The following academic-related activities found attendance:

  • Physically attend a grade where there was an opportunity for direct interaction between the instructor and students
  • Submit an academic assignment
  • Take an exam, an interactive tutorial or reckoner-assisted education
  • Attend a study group that was assigned by the faculty member
  • Participate in an online word virtually academic matters
  • Initiate contact with a kinesthesia fellow member to ask a question almost the academic field of study studied in the course

Withdrawing From Courses

Prior to withdrawing, a student should speak with his or her teacher and a Student Success Navigator to decide if a course withdrawal is in the best interest of the student. Students are permitted a maximum of two withdrawals per class in college credit, career and technical, or developmental courses. Pursuant to Rule 6A-14.0301 of Florida Authoritative Lawmaking, upon the third (and any canonical subsequent endeavor), the pupil is not permitted to withdraw from that course. If the student does withdraw from a tertiary (and any approved subsequent attempt), the "W" grade received in that course, will convert to a final class of "F" at the end of the semester.
